L.A. Street Style : Lady in Red

We spotted a stylish lady at this past weekend’s Unique L.A. show in Downtown Los Angeles.  The pretty red printed skirt was hard to miss, styled perfectly with ballet flats and cool bangles.  Add a daytime clutch and it’s perfection!  You can check out more of her stylings on her fashion blog: http://afashionfiles.blogspot.com/

Featured Label : Love Nail Tree

This past weekend was Unique L.A. at the California Market Center.  We stumbled upon this very cool booth for LOVE NAIL TREE.  The graphics on the tees are really urban with a hint of pop art.  They certainly have a distinct message and look.  I loved the photos of Downtown Los Angeles on them, as in specific streets and brick walls, and not the predictable skyline.  And it’s not just a tee shirt line where they slap on graphics on a plain old tee.  Sticking to a chic and wearable classic palette of blacks and whites, the tops come in updated drapey fits in super soft washed jerseys.  They also carry whimsical, but not too whimsical, jewelry with pocket watch charms, keys, and harmonicas.  From the vast spread of booths, they were certainly setting the bar.  The price points are very reasonable.  Recommended for fans of Allsaints.

Trending Now: Accordian Pleated Skirts

Accordian pleated skirts are popping up everywhere this season.  Try them in either bright pop colors or soft neutral pinks and blush tones.  Pick a short length for a flirty young feel, or a long skirt for a dramatic romantic effect.  They’re so versatile.  It can easily be dressed up or down.  Try them with a simple tee and flat sandals or loafers for a casual look.  Or pair it with a button down shirt and heels for the office or a night out.  We love the asymmetrical hem versions, too!

Dark Lipstick at the MET Ball

It’s no news that the dominant lipstick color on the red carpet of last week’s MET Ball in New York was a dark deep wine color.  Literally, almost everyone was rocking the dark lips.  From Kate Bosworth, Camilla Belle, to Lana Del Rey.  Here are some gorgeous shades we chose for you to try.  Yes, dark lips are bold, but they are also very classic and glamorous.  Also, it’s not just for the red carpet.  We found this makeup tutorial from TopShop, and we love how casual and cool this looks.  Try it for a night out!

Coachella Street Style : On her way to Azealia Banks

Neon Pop!  Today, we give you the final Coachella street style shot.  We spotted this stylish chic on her way to see Azealia Banks.  She pulls off the neon look well by choosing a cool dress with lots of drape and movement, but it looks great because she kept the neon her main statement.  It’s just a great shade of neon green.  It is well accessorized by a cute pop pink backpack to compliment.  Tough lace up boots and metal round sunglasses finish the look.

Statement Piece: The Studded Denim Vest

Saw this amazing denim vest on TopShop.com.  It’s a must have.  You can nearly throw it over anything and it will give you instant style.  Studs and skulls not your thing?  You can find plain denim vests, too.  Try Levi’s available at UrbanOutfitters.  The first look, we kept everything else really clean and simple to focus on the statement vest.  It’s cool and casual.  The second look, we went all out and accentuated the vest by finding interesting pieces to compliment it.  Two super cool Spring looks.

Fashion DIY Idea: Embellished Shorts

Here is a super cute and simple DIY idea.  Use your old denim shorts, or pick up a pair of inexpensive ones from a store like Old Navy.  Next, buy some cool trims.  It doesn’t have to be pom-poms, but we loved the pom-pom trimmed denim shorts as seen on the DSquared runways.  Get creative and fun.  Add a ribbon trim on top, or find different color combinations.  Simply stitch it to the hem of your shorts!  If you’d rather not do the project, and you can’t afford the DSquared pair, there’s a cute one available at Asos.com.
